Monterey County Introduces the Artichoke Trail

Monterey County is a hub of all things artichoke, and we're thrilled to announce the launch of the Artichoke Trail – a must-see for any veggie enthusiast! The trail highlights over 20 stops throughout Monterey County, each showcasing artichoke dishes in all their glory. Castroville, the "Artichoke Capital of the World," is one of the top destinations along the trail, hosting the Artichoke Alley – the place to be for artichoke lovers!

Visitors can experience a variety of artichoke-themed attractions along the way, including farm stands, local restaurants, and Salt Wood Kitchen & Oysterette’s special dishes — including Grilled Ad Astra Olive Bread with Artichoke Butter (featured above) and Calabrian Lobster Pasta with artichokes.

In addition to the trail, visitors can look forward to the Artichoke Festival, a long-standing event in Monterey County that is now in its 63rd year. The festival promises to be loads of fun this year, with family-friendly activities, culinary delights, and the Thistle be Fun! theme.
